Animal City Tag Rates

It is unlawful for the owner or harborer of any dog or cat, male or female, to permit the same to run at large and off the premises of the owner or harborer.  Any dog or cat observed to be at large in violation of City Ordinances may be impounded by the Animal Control Officer.

All dogs and cats must have a city tag which may be purchased at the city office or the city's impound facility (the Hoisington Veterinary Hospital).  Proof of a current rabies shot must be presented in order for a tag to be issued.  The license fee will be reduced if the owner of a dog or cat provides proof from an accredited veterinarian that the dog or cat has been neutered or spayed, however the dog or cat must still be registered with the city annually.  The cost of a dog or cat tag is identified in the Uniform Fee Schedule in the Document Center.  All tags are due January 1st of each year.  After March 31st the cost increases according to the Uniform Fee Schedule which is available in the Document Center.
